Promoting Timelapse Video

It is hard to sell time-lapse projects. It's strange because these videos always amaze viewers. That is why I started a teaser campaign of some sort: I will publish time lapsed clips that I have kept for myself and will share them on Facebook on a daily basis until I run out of clips to show. Let see if I get orders or at least comments.

Komen Peoria Race for the Cure Timelapsed - Spring 2009

I just saw that my Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure timelapse was not on my blog! Allow me to introduce to you one of my finest timelapses. I had heard a lot about the SGK race for the cure and in 2009 I decided to get up really early and cover the race. 2 Cameras, multiple locations... What an event! See for yourself! PS: In the edit, I decided to remove all the colors besides the pink! A nice way to emphasize on the organization's colors, don't you think?

Graffiti Timelapse - November 2011

The CIAO of Peoria (Central Illinois Artist Organization) asked me to record a timelapse of a 60ft mural for their First Friday event! What a great project! I was really excited to record Dutch artist, Ard Doko, finish paint his large-scale mural on Nov. 4.

For this project I decided to record with all the cameras that I had: Sony EX1, 2 Canon Vixia HFS10 and 1 Nikon D200. I also brought and used my Lowell light kit (very useful for this project). 3 hours of recording generated the following 2 videos:

First Friday offers a chance to meet and greet artists in their studios and gallery spaces at a variety of locations in Downtown Peoria, IL.  The free event takes place on from to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month through November. First Friday is organized by the Central Illinois Artists Organization (C.I.A.O.)

Good Morning Peoria - April 2009

This is my first timelapse featuring Peoria. Such a great city (even for someone who grew up in Paris, France ... a.k.a me).
I would like to record more timelapses of Peoria. If you are a business looking to promote yourself or an event coming, give me a call at 309.363.5368, a timelapse will amaze your audience and generate buzz!

Dan Fogelberg timelapse - July/Aug 2010

Watch the creation of the Dan Fogelberg Memorial, a project that has been in the works for two years.

This is one of my biggest timelapse project. I recorded with 3 HD cameras offering 3 different angles.
It took about 12 hours (over two days) to record the creation of the memorial.

A great project that I am very proud of! Thank you Hugh Higgins and Joe Couri for giving me this great opportunity!

Tree Cutting Timelapse - Jan 2010

I recorded this timelapse from the comfort of my home :-) My neighbor asked King Tree Specialists to cut down their tree. I didn't know about it but as I was editing videos for a client. I heard the chainsaws and the branches falling. I got up and saw what was going on. I thought "Wow, this would look really cool timelapsed" So I quickly grabbed my camera and started recording. For once, I didn't not have to remain behind my camera and wait, standing for hours. Great video, great music. One more timelapse that I am proud of!
I called King Tree Specialist and told them to use my video on their website. This is a great promotional piece! and it's FREE!
How cool is that :-) So if you know of a company that could use a timelapse, let me know!
Thanks,
Raphael

Spirit Of Peoria Timelapse - Sept 2009

I always was amazed by the Spirit of Peoria. So one day I thought "wouldn't it be nice to do a timelapse of it". I contacted Captain Alex Grieves and he accpeted to have me on board and do what I love to do :-) I timelapsed an entire flight. It went by so fast! I need to go back ... but this time without the camera and enjoy the sights!

Peoria Civic Center Change Over - May 2009

My first timelapse at the Peoria Civic Center. It took around 10 hours for the crew to change from a concert to an indoor Football setting. Pretty ah-ma-zing!

One day in the life of Paris - Sept 2008

It took me a year to record this timelapse sequences! I absolutely loved it. It is funny to see my countless hours spent outside recording edited down to a 3 minute video :-)

As seen on TV - CBS St Patrick's Day - March 2008

I have to admit that having my video featured on TV feels very very rewarding :-)
CBS contacted me and asked if they could air my video. I said "hell no" ... Just kidding. It was exactly the opposite :-)

Peoria RiverFront Carnival - Aug 2008

My first time timelapse using a picture camera: Nikon D200.
Turned out great!

Feux d'artifice Tour Eiffel - 14 juillet 2007

Not really a timelapse, more of a stop-motion video, but, hey, since it involves taking pictures over time, this qualifies for being featured in this blog. I recorded this with my Canon picture camera on a tripod, taking pictures every 2 seconds (or something like that). Turned out great. The French national anthem gives the video great panache!

Caribbean Timelapse - Aug 2006

In 2006 I had the chance to go to St John, Virgin Islands. This place was like heaven. I remember seeing on TV beautiful caribbean sunsets and I always wanted to capture one. Well, this was my chance to make my dream come true! Here is what I brought back :-)

Gotham City - Aug 2008

This is my most cinematic timelapse. I used a timelapse that I recorded in Chicago early 2008.
It all started with a timelapse of Chicago that I wanted to playback on a track from the movie "Batman Begins".
As editing went on, inspiration kept coming. That is how I created the animation at the beginning.
Thank you, Sandy Mullangi, for letting me use the view of your apartment for my timelapse :-).

Chicago River turns green for St Patrick's Day - March 2008

There is a cool story behind this timelapse.
I will take the time to write it if someone is interested. Let me know :-)
